Community Table
Tillamook Farmers' Market features a Community Table. The purpose and guidelines are listed below.
The Community Table's purposes are to:
- provide a direct market outlet for home gardeners and gentleman farmers with extra produce, fresh cut flowers, and any other home raised food item
- add to the diversity of the products offered at the farmers' market
- provide a source of income for the market organization through a 20% consignment fee
The table is co-operated as a consignment booth by market volunteers and runs during the market hours. The Community Table has a licensed scale, but participants are responsible for weighing their own produce and should arrive early to do so. There are a few simple guidelines to assure that the table operates in an orderly manner and conforms with state regulations.
- Producer brings product listed on a "check-in/check-out" sheet at least 15 minutes before the opening bell.
- Product is delivered in clean condition, bunched and/or packaged, labeled with the price, item name, producers name, and a place to note the weight upon final weigh-in at the market where applicable. Consumer information is encouraged.
- Community Table participants must comply with the regular market guidelines, including the expectation that product has been produced by the seller.
- Community Table participants are limited to gross sales of $150 per market.
- The consignment fee is 20% of gross sales. Growers who wish to volunteer with the operation of the Farmers' Market are welcomed by prior arrangement. The consignment fee is waived for volunteers.
- Participants wishing to sell produce as "organic" can only do so if their total sales are under $5,000 a year, although they still need to follow the National Organic Program regulations if they are calling their products 'organic'.
- Unsold produce and flowers not picked up by participants at the end of the market (2 p.m.) will be donated to community food banks, retirement centers or other recipients at the discretion of the operators.

We would suggest you come early the first time you use this service, so we can show you the ropes.
