TILLAMOOK FARMERS’ MARKET POLICIES
2008 Season
Market Manager: Chris Kell (842-5800)


Market Operations:
  1. Goods should be produced or grown by the vendor or the vendor’s immediate family within a 100-mile radius of Tillamook, Oregon. The Market Committee gives final approval of all vendors and their products.
  2. Used goods, manufactured items or commercial-brand merchandise are not permitted for sale at the Market.
  3. Vendors must comply with the rules and guidelines established by the Oregon Department of Agriculture. (You can find them here.)
  4. Vendors are asked not to smoke in the vicinity of the Market.
  5. Vendors are responsible for the set-up, clean-up and safe operation of their space.
  6. Pricing is at the discretion of individual vendors.
  7. All vendors and vendor agents have a responsibility to behave in a courteous and professional manner
  8. Anyone using electricity needs to provide their own cords, and those cords be a mimimum of 12 gauge, 100' long.
  9. All Vendors participating in the WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and the Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program must learn and follow program rules outlines in “2008 WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program Rules” form available from Market management and State and County agencies

Market Location: The Saturday Market is located on Laurel between 1st and 3rd in the parking area between the County Courthouse and City Hall.

The Thursday market is located on N. Hwy. 101 across from the old Safeway Building and behind LaProviencia taco wagon.

Saturday Market Times:
  1. The Market is held on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., beginning on June 14 and ending on September 27, 2008.
  2. Vendors will not sell before the ringing of the Market Bell at 9:00 a.m., and will not depart before 2:00 p.m.
  3. Season-pass spaces not occupied by 8:15 a.m. will be sold to daily vendors.

Thursday Market Times:

  1. The Market is held on Thursdays from 2:00-6:00 p.m., beginning on June 19 and ending on September 25, 2008.
  2. Vendors will not sell before 2:00 p.m., and will not depart before 6:00 p.m.
  3. Spaces will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Fees and Procedures:
  1. Season passes are available to growers and crafters for $100.00. Season passes will reserve a numbered space for the vendor for the season; however, Saturday vendors not in their reserved space by 8:15 will forfeit their space for the day.
  2. Returning vendors will have the option of maintaining the space they occupied the previous year.
  3. Available spaces are rented at a daily rate of $25.00 to pre-approved vendors.
  4. Season vendors who will be absent must advise the Market Manager, Chris Kell (842-5800) by the Thursday prior to the Market. If a vendor fails to notify the Market Manager three times during the season, they will be asked to leave the market for the remainder of the season.
  5. Each booth space must display a sign identifying the vendor by name and location (only city required) of farm/business.
  6. Vehicles are not allowed inside the vendor/pedestrian area of the Market between 8:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Saturdays or 2-6 p.m. Thursdays NO EXCEPTIONS. This rule will be strongly enforced
  7. Vendors vehicles not used inside the market are to park in the lot behind the courthouse or outside a two block radius of the Market.
  8. All canopies used at Tillamook Farmers' Market are required to be secured at each corner by a weight of not less than 10 lbs. (40 lbs. Total for canopy)
Miscellaneous:
  1. All vendors will receive a copy of these rules.
  2. Tillamook Farmers’ Market reserves the right to prohibit anyone from selling or to prohibit any product from being sold.
  3. Tillamook Farmers’ Market does not endorse the gathering of signatures on a petition or any other political activity within the market.
  4. Tillamook Farmers’ Market reserves the right to make exception to these rules at its discretion.
  5. Tillamook Farmers’ Market, under the umbrella of the Tillamook Downtown Association, is not responsible for any loss or damage incurred by the vendors.
